Visiting Instructor in Art
The Department of Art within the School of Art + Design at the University of Oregon seeks a Visiting Instructor to teach undergraduate courses.
About the role
The Visiting Instructor will teach nine courses per academic year, including both lower-division and upper-division Art courses. Responsibilities also include shared service responsibilities such as mentoring MFA and BFA students and participating in departmental activities.
Responsibilities
- Teach nine courses per academic year in a 3-term quarter system
- Mentor MFA and BFA students
- Participate in departmental activities
Requirements
- MFA degree or equivalent terminal degree
- Evidence of teaching excellence
- A documented record of recent creative work
Qualifications
- A strong understanding of the expansive field of Art
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
- Ability to conduct independent, high-quality research and creative practice
