About the role

Primary responsibilities include teaching design courses for the program, designing scenery, projections, and/or props for mainstage season productions, providing leadership and mentorship of students in the design area, and recruiting and mentoring majors within the design area of the program. Possible teaching responsibilities may include scenic design, projection design and control, properties design, scenic painting, drafting, rendering, fundamentals of design, and special topics in design. Additional responsibilities may include paint, projections, and prop shop oversight. Other duties will be assigned based on the candidate’s strengths and the needs of the program.

Qualifications

A terminal degree in Theatre Design or a related field is required. A strong portfolio demonstrating the ability to design scenery, projections, and/or props is essential. Experience in teaching design courses at the college level is preferred. A record of scholarly/creative activity is desirable.

The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

Schedule
