Visiting Assistant Professor of Instruction
Responsibilities
Teaching load is 4/4 with primary teaching responsibilities in First Year Composition and Professional and Technical Communication. Courses are capped at 20 students.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. or a terminal degree in an English studies discipline (e.g., from an accredited institution by August 7, 2026)
- Minimum two years' experience teaching writing at the postsecondary level
- Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor of Instruction
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition, Technical and Professional Communication, or related field from accredited institution by start date
- Multiple years of experience teaching Composition and Technical and Professional Communication at the post-secondary level
About the Role
The Department of English at the University of South Florida seeks to hire multiple 9-month, full-time, non-tenure earning Visiting Assistant Professors of Instruction for the Tampa campus to start August 7, 2026. These visiting positions are for the 2026-2027 academic year with possible extension for a second or third year. Salary is $50,000 with first class benefit package available. This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.
Benefits
