About the role
The position is a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Anthropology, starting September 1, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Teach six courses over three ten-week trimesters
- Contribute to interdisciplinary programs and the Complex Questions general education curriculum
- Develop courses in their area of expertise
- Engage in research and scholarly activities
Requirements
- Ph.D. in anthropology in hand
- Teaching experience preferred, but ABD candidates and those from closely related fields are welcome
- Research and teaching abilities
Qualifications
- Research addressing gender, anthropology of religion (Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism), linguistic anthropology, medical anthropology, anthropology of education, family and kinship, and anthropology of childhood
- Preference for geographic expertise in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean, the Middle East, South, East, or Southeast Asia, or among indigenous people of Oceania or the Americas

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $68,500-$70,500.
