Visiting Assistant Clinical Professor, Social Work

Minimum Qualifications

  • MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited program
  • At least two (2) years of post-MSW practice experience
  • Content expertise in master’s generalist courses and/or specialty content areas related to healthcare social work, including:
    • Health and social welfare policy/advocacy
    • Social, behavioral, psychological interventions for patients/clients in health settings
    • Research and evaluation for healthcare, including community based approaches
    • Health social work, community and inpatient, including medical/hospital social work specialty areas
    • Mental health diagnosis and intervention in healthcare
    • Diabetes care and management
    • Social work in health and aging
    • Trauma-informed practice
    • Substance abuse assessment and treatment in healthcare settings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral Degree in social work or related field
  • Academic experience in bachelor or master of social work education
  • Experience with developing and providing didactic lectures and clinical skills training to master’s level social work, healthcare and mental health clinicians
  • Experience with online pedagogy and tools
  • Experience with inter-professional healthcare practice and education
  • Clinical social work licensure or eligibility for licensure
  • Practice specialization in one or more of the following areas: Medical/hospital social work, Aging, palliative care, rehabilitation, Community health, Community mental health, Integrated behavioral health care, Healthcare evaluation/management, Healthcare policy/advocacy
  • Strong knowledge, skills and experience in working with diverse students and client/patient populations
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work
