About the role

The full-time online social work faculty member at Liberty University is responsible for teaching social work across the curriculum. This role requires a deep understanding of social work principles and a commitment to integrating faith and social work values.

Responsibilities

  • Teach social work courses from a biblical worldview in compliance with CSWE standards.
  • Engage with students through virtual in-person class time and various communication methods.
  • Respond to student emails within 24 hours and grade assignments within six days.
  • Provide regular feedback to students and participate in retention initiatives.
  • Motivate students to actively participate in the educational process.
  • Address concerns regarding student performance, professionalism, readiness for field or profession, academic dishonesty, and other gatekeeping concerns.
  • Communicate with other faculty and department leadership about student issues.
  • Provide feedback to Subject Matter Experts and department leadership regarding course content and student learning.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as roster verification, reporting, and timely submission of final grades.

Requirements

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program with five years post-masters practice experience.
  • Two years of online/hybrid teaching experience in social work or related fields, or two years of professional training and consultation in social work.
  • Experience teaching within the framework of CSWE standards.
  • Experience teaching social work practice or research courses.
  • Experience teaching social work from a biblical worldview.
  • Basic competency with Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Demonstrate strengths in teaching at the college level.
  • Understand and articulate social work from a biblical worldview.
  • Show proven organizational skills and ability to complete tasks accurately and on time with minimal supervision.
  • Effectively collaborate virtually with colleagues and department faculty and staff.
  • Display excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Possess creative, innovative, and problem-solving skills.

Skills

  • Ability to teach from a biblical worldview in social work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience teaching social work from a biblical worldview.
  • Experience teaching social work practice or research courses.
  • Experience teaching online social work courses with synchronous components.

Benefits

The position offers comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and tuition assistance. The pay range is $76,200.00 - $99,600.00, with the actual compensation offered depending on multiple factors.
