About the role

The Technician plays a crucial role in the healthcare setting, supporting doctors in providing comprehensive care to patients. Key responsibilities include preparing patients for exams, conducting necessary tests, assisting during procedures, managing patient schedules, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the exam rooms.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for eye examinations by explaining preliminary testing procedures.
  • Perform all preliminary and doctor-requested tests on patients.
  • Absorb and assist optometrists and ophthalmologists with patient procedures.
  • Cook up and manage patient scheduling, monitoring flow within the office.
  • Prepare exam rooms by cleaning instruments and maintaining supplies.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming environment for both patients and staff.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by the office manager or team lead, and doctors.

Requirements

  • Physical demands: Standing for prolonged periods, stooping, grasping, lifting up to 15 lbs., talking, hearing.
  • Light work capacity.
  • Visual acuity to accurately perform tasks.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a medical or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and move light to moderate weight.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Basic computer literacy.
