Virtual Tutor - Maryland

Amplify Tutoring is seeking remote, part-time Virtual Tutors to provide small-group tutoring for students in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade during the 2026‑2027 School Year. Tutors must reside within Maryland and be able to travel to Annapolis to complete fingerprinting.

About the role

Virtual Tutors deliver structured, research‑based literacy lessons, plan and prepare for each session, and engage in ongoing training and professional development. They work with small groups of K‑8 students using Amplify’s curriculum and may later earn endorsements in math or literacy tutoring, assessment administration, or special projects.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 30‑minute tutoring sessions to small groups of Kindergarten‑through‑8th‑grade students.
• Spend 30 minutes preparing lessons for each tutoring session.
• Complete initial training and participate in ongoing professional development.
• Use Amplify’s structured research‑based curriculum for literacy‑based instruction.
• After demonstrating success, pursue additional endorsements in math tutoring (grades 3‑5), literacy tutoring (grades 6‑8), administering literacy assessments, or special projects.
• Maintain a private, quiet workspace with a personal laptop/computer, webcam, and microphone (Chromebooks, tablets, and smartphones are not permitted).
• Complete required fingerprinting and background checks before working with students.

Requirements

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent English speaker.
• Comfortable and highly skilled with technology.
• Available a minimum of 90 minutes per day, 3 days per week (Monday‑Friday) at consistent times between 8 am‑4 pm ET (e.g., Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays 10:00‑
