Virtual Reading - Substitute Volunteer Tutor
About the role
Volunteers are needed to meet with students weekly to work on reading comprehension skills. Occasionally, volunteers are unable to attend their scheduled sessions, and we need substitute volunteers to cover these times.
Responsibilities
- Meet with students for 30 minutes to an hour once per week to provide tutoring support.
- Substitute for regular volunteers who are unable to attend their scheduled sessions.
- Communicate with students and their regular tutor to ensure continuity in learning.
Requirements
Volunteers must be over 18 years old and residents of Pennsylvania. They must also pass a background check and any additional required clearances.
Qualifications
No specific qualifications are required beyond the age requirement and residency status.
Skills
Strong communication and patience are essential. Basic reading and writing skills are helpful but not required.
