About the Role
Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor in all core content areas and grade levels. While this is an online school position, travel and in-person attendance will be required several times per year to support state testing and student events.
- Relentlessly work to meet all goals related to student achievement, culture, and state-specific academic accountability.
- Deliver highly effective live lessons via web conference based on student need, rooted in research-based instructional practices.
- Complete course setup for each course within the Learning Management System.
- Monitor student progress in asynchronous courses and provide feedback/grade assignments daily.
- Track and maintain contact with each student.
- Collaborate with the Principal to create and deliver Progress Reports.
- Review student-level data frequently to inform instructional adjustments.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
- Utilize research-based best practices in both synchronous and asynchronous instruction.
- Create a joyful, caring, and loving classroom environment.
- Integrate culturally responsive teaching practices into daily lessons and interactions.
- Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding academic and social-emotional growth.
- Incorporate 21st-century technology skills into daily classroom practice.
- Participate in planning and implementing non-instructional activities such as social events and field trips.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues.
- Travel to support required face-to-face state testing annually.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current Florida teaching license in the appropriate content area.
- Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
- Preferred: two years’ teaching experience.
- High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, and progress monitoring.
- High-quality written and verbal communication skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook.
- Ability to properly manage confidential information.
- Ability to stand for up to 90 minutes at a time.
- Ability to supervise students in all school settings.
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
- Experience working in a multi-cultural setting preferred.
