About the role

SAIC is seeking a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer to support the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) One IT program. The role involves sustaining, modernizing, and transforming enterprise IT capabilities for DCSA, providing a highly secured and adaptable IT infrastructure, customer support, and cutting‑edge technologies under a single IT environment. This position is onsite in Quantico.

Responsibilities

• Architect, plan, engineer, and implement desktop virtualization technology and solutions.
• Manage end‑user applications and software for desktops/laptops and applications hosted in the VDI environment.
• Coordinate with network, server services, and security teams to resolve issues and ensure consistent, compatible configuration across the client infrastructure.
• Facilitate automated software deployment as well as image creation and compatibility.
• Ensure security compliance through patching, encryption, configuration management, remote device management, and reporting/visibility.
• Resolve issues involving end‑user hardware or software in the virtual environment.
• Coordinate with technicians to develop and maintain Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and perform/direct testing.
• Research, maintain, and apply expertise in emerging technologies, industry developments, trends, best practices, and principles of VDI architectures.
• Develop knowledge articles related to VDI environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and nine (9)+ years of experience; Master’s degree and seven (7)+ years; PhD or JD and four (4)+ years of experience.
• U.S. citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II (e.g., CompTIA Security+ with CE).
• VMware Certified Professional certification (Data Center v7.x) with emphasis on the Omnissa suite.

Pay

Target salary range: $160,001 – $200,000.
