Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Directing VC Modelers, assigning tasks (including self-performing when appropriate), setting priorities, monitoring progress and QAQC of 3D modeling and 2D drawing deliverables in line with VC Standards.
- Interpreting the project schedule, budget, deliverable requirements, and field requests to plan VC staffing, ensuring any impacts due to changes/rework are reported to the project team.
- Working in close coordination with the prefabrication department.
- Maintaining clear communication with Superintendents, Foremen & Project Managers to ensure ownership is clear, expectations are understood, and schedule is met.
- Obtain & review front end documents/models from General Contractor & Design Teams.
- Initial planning and setup of BIM workflows throughout the project.
- Setting up Revit projects and workspaces for modelers.
- Applying knowledge and skills across multiple BIM coordination workflows.
- Utilizing electrical systems and installation knowledge to aid in constructability.
- Model, detail, annotate, and design in virtual workspaces.
- Collaborating with field management on design, planning, and installation work.
- Tracking tasks from field management for modeling requests per construction schedule.
- Tasking production personnel to create modeled content & shop drawings in the workspace.
- Detailing and generating installation drawings for the field.
- Detailing and generating prefabrication drawings.
Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Scanning Technologies like RealWorks and Recap Pro & Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Ability to produce BIM deliverables including 3D modeling, 2D installation/prefabrication drawings, and Total Station/QML point layout files in line with VC Standards.
- Possesses the necessary communication skills, adaptability, and temperament to consistently meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining healthy working relationships.
- Preferred licensed electrician with hands-on experience installing large/complex construction projects, ideally General Foreman level or above.
- In-depth understanding of electrical/telecom systems for large/complex construction projects.
