About the Role

The Virtually Integrated Care (VIC) Medical Surgical Nurse serves as the catalyst for patient-centered care by leading a well-coordinated care team. This role is central to innovation and a transformational, evidence-based practice care model. The experienced RN anticipates and directs patient care through evaluating health promotion, risk reduction, and clinical decision-making. The VIC RN assumes accountability for client care outcomes by applying evidence-based practice to design, implement, and evaluate client plans of care in a virtual environment. This role functions as the hub of coordination and communication for a multidisciplinary team.

As a Virtual Care RN, you will revolutionize patient care by leveraging cutting-edge technology to deliver expert nursing guidance across the health system. Daily responsibilities include providing real-time virtual inter-collaborative nursing assistance to on-site care teams nationwide, covering admissions, transfers, transitions of care, and vital support tasks. You will apply seasoned skills to diverse patient needs, ensuring dynamic and varied daily experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a clinician, educator, consultant/collaborator, and leader in a virtual care setting.
  • Coordinate and communicate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate evidence-based client plans of care in a virtual environment.
  • Provide real-time virtual nursing assistance for admissions, transfers, transitions of care, and support tasks.
  • Serve as a dynamic change leader for the transformational care model.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of professional competence and autonomy in patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSN) degree, or actively in pursuit of a BSN degree.
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
  • Three (3) years of RN Med Surg experience in an acute care facility.
  • Three (3) years of nursing preceptor experience.
  • Two (2) years in a nursing leadership role (Charge RN role applicable).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Certified Acute-Care Virtual Registered Nurse (CAVRN) within 12 months or 1,000 hours worked.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five (5+) years of RN Med Surg experience in an acute care facility.
  • Master’s in Nursing (MSN).

Pay

$44.00 - $44.00 per hour.
