Virtual ASL Educator (New Jersey Certified)
Daily Rate: $36-40/hr; rates are negotiable and subject to change.
About the role
Fully remote, 1099 contract opportunity for a certified Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing or ASL-certified educator. Elementary experience preferred. Position runs from 10/5/2026 through 5/21/2027, following the school district's calendar.
Fullmind partners with U.S. schools to fill teacher vacancies by live-streaming certified educators directly to students. As a Fullmind educator, you’ll deliver virtual instruction, guide students to course completion, teach the district’s curriculum on their virtual platform, attend district professional development and faculty meetings, record student progress, and collaborate with an in-class facilitator.
Schedule
- Tuesday: 1:35 PM to 2:17 PM, 2:18 PM to 3:00 PM
- Wednesday: 1:35 PM to 2:17 PM, 2:18 PM to 3:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Teach the curriculum of the school on the district’s virtual platform
- Attend district professional development and faculty meetings
- Record student progress and grades
- Partner with an in-class facilitator who is physically present with students
- Promote creativity and excitement in the virtual learning environment
- Create strategies to engage and nurture student learning and relationships
- Develop lesson plans aligned with the class curriculum
Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and hold an active, USA state-issued teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing or ASL
- Minimum of 3 years of professional teaching experience
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university
- Laptop or desktop computer, webcam, headset, and reliable internet access
- Participate in a virtual skills teaching demonstration and submit a background check as part of the application process
- Prior online teaching experience is a plus
