Virginia Master Naturalist Educators Bureau
About the Program
The Virginia Master Naturalist (VMN) Educators Bureau connects volunteers with opportunities to share their skills and knowledge about natural resources. VMN volunteers may lead nature walks, present webinars, conduct demonstrations, or host outreach booths at local events. The Educators Bureau helps match presenters with organizations seeking educational programs on natural resource topics, increasing volunteer engagement and expanding the program’s reach.
How to Find a Presenter
The VMN Educators Bureau does not publicly publish volunteer information. To request a presenter, contact a local VMN chapter or the state office with the following details:
- Name of your group
- Description of the audience
- Requested topic
- Type of presentation (e.g., lecture, field demonstration, interpretive walk, interactive program)
- Preferred format (in-person indoors, in-person outdoors, or virtual)
VMN will provide a list of qualified volunteers, whom you may contact directly to arrange the presentation. VMN volunteers do not accept payment for their service, but groups may make a donation to support the program.
How to Sign Up as a Volunteer Educator
VMN volunteers interested in leading educational programs can join the Educators Bureau during open enrollment periods in June and December. Volunteers will receive an email notification with sign-up instructions. Those already listed do not need to resubmit the form—watch for an email invitation to review your listing instead.
