About the role

The Violence Intervention Program Manager will provide day-to-day leadership and management of program operations of the hospital-based Violence Intervention Program, in accordance with the core mission and values of the Program.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of Violence Interrupters and Violence Intervention Specialists, providing guidance, coaching, support, and mentorship to ensure the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed and healing-focused services aimed at helping participants achieve life goals towards a safe future.
  • Develop and implement program policies and procedures in collaboration with the Director of Violence Intervention Services, Trauma Recovery Center leadership, hospital leadership and other community stakeholders.
  • Plan and coordinate community outreach events aimed at spreading awareness of the program and services as well as supporting partner organizations.
  • Cookorate with hospital departments, community organizations, and other partners to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to violence interventions.
  • Conduct and participate in regular assessments of program effectiveness and recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide training and supervision to staff on trauma-informed care, case management and violence prevention best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of program activities and outcomes.
  • Work with the Director of Violence Intervention and team to produce regular required reports to stakeholders, including the City of New Orleans.
  • Perform personnel administration (timesheets, staffing, etc.).
  • Maintain effective communications with senior administration, medical staff, the community, and all levels of clinical employees.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with relevant stakeholders in various stages of program design and delivery, including program monitoring and evaluation and/or research initiatives.
  • Research and participate in efforts to broaden funding sources.
  • Maximize the use of alternative resources through collaborative relationships with academic institutions, community and nonprofit groups, parish, state and federal agencies.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Public Health or a related field.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or eligibility for licensure preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in social work, counseling, or therapy, preferably with a focus on violence intervention or related areas preferred.
  • 2 years of Supervisory Experience required.
  • Experience working in a public health or social service settings.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Social Work, Public Health or a related field.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or eligibility for licensure preferred.

3 years of experience in social work, counseling, or therapy, preferably with a focus on violence intervention or related areas preferred.

2 years of Supervisory Experience required.

Experience working in a public health or social service settings.

Skills

Master's degree in Social Work, Public Health or a related field.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or eligibility for licensure preferred.
