About the role

Syft is looking for a passionate and driven individual to join our team as a Software Engineer. In this role, you'll be building and scaling the technology that powers our platform, connecting bakers with local businesses and streamlining operations across the supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable software solutions across the full stack
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, and operations to define and ship new features
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices and coding standards
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and sprint planning
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring system reliability and performance
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmap planning
  • Mentor junior engineers and help foster a culture of continuous learning

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Go)
  • Experience with web frameworks such as React, Django, or Node.js
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL (PostgreSQL preferred)
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote team environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Previous experience in logistics, supply chain, or marketplace platforms is a plus

Skills

  • Strong backend development skills with experience building scalable APIs
  • Frontend development experience with modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Database design and optimization
  • Testing methodologies (unit, integration, end-to-end)
  • Agile development practices

Pay

$130,000 – $160,000 per year, depending on experience and location

Schedule

Full-time, Monday–Friday with flexible hours; core collaboration hours 10am–3pm ET
