About the role
Syft is looking for a passionate and driven individual to join our team as a Software Engineer. In this role, you'll be building and scaling the technology that powers our platform, connecting bakers with local businesses and streamlining operations across the supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable software solutions across the full stack
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, and operations to define and ship new features
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices and coding standards
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and sprint planning
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring system reliability and performance
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmap planning
- Mentor junior engineers and help foster a culture of continuous learning
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Go)
- Experience with web frameworks such as React, Django, or Node.js
- Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote team environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Previous experience in logistics, supply chain, or marketplace platforms is a plus
Skills
- Strong backend development skills with experience building scalable APIs
- Frontend development experience with modern JavaScript frameworks
- Database design and optimization
- Testing methodologies (unit, integration, end-to-end)
- Agile development practices

Pay
$130,000 – $160,000 per year, depending on experience and location
Schedule
Full-time, Monday–Friday with flexible hours; core collaboration hours 10am–3pm ET
