Village Market Line Cook

POSITION PURPOSE

The Village Market Line Cook is responsible for preparing made-to-order sandwiches, bagels, and other menu items while providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment. This role ensures food quality, cleanliness, food safety compliance, and an inviting experience for customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare sandwiches, Bagels, pizza, and other menu items according to customer specifications and established recipes
• Take customer orders and answer questions about menu items and ingredients
• Maintain quality, consistency, and presentation standards for all food products
• Stock and replenish ingredients, packaging, and supplies throughout the day
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary food preparation area
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations
• Aid with receiving deliveries and putting away inventory
• Help with opening and closing duties, including cleaning equipment and preparing workstations
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient service during busy periods

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous food service, deli, café, or customer service experience preferred but not required
• Strong attention to detail and food quality
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to follow recipes, procedures, and food safety guidelines
• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Able to stand for long periods of time (approximately 8-10 hours)
• Able to lift up to 20 pounds
