About the Role
The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization serving nearly 30,000 people across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations ranging from about 10 to more than 1,000. This position provides maintenance and repair services on Yukon-Kuskokwim Village Health Clinic buildings and equipment, ensuring required inspections, certifications, and regulatory documents are complete. The role involves extensive travel by small plane, several days each week.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repair on buildings and equipment in remote health clinics.
- Ensure compliance with inspections, certifications, and regulatory documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues in a remote setting with minimal oversight.
- Operate and maintain building equipment, making on-the-spot decisions during emergencies.
- Implement safety procedures in the workplace.
- Work with power tools, small motorized equipment, and vehicles.
- Use ladders, scaffolding, and/or scissor lifts as part of job duties.
- Relate professionally to the public in a healthcare setting.
- Work overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; vocational training preferred.
- 3–5 years of hands-on commercial or industrial maintenance experience.
- Experience and training in one or more skilled craft trades: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.
- Familiarity with MS-Office for Windows, computerized building management systems, and maintenance management software.
- Understanding of local codes and ordinances.
- Ability to work independently or in groups.
- Highly self-motivated with strong troubleshooting skills.

Pay
Minimum hourly pay: $27.52.
Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call work may be required.
