About the role
This role involves building and maintaining custom reports in Crystal Reports and SSRS, configuring and troubleshooting core modules, and supporting integrations and data flow between Vista and external tools.Responsibilities
- Build and maintain custom reports in Crystal Reports and SSRS, and register them through VA Report Titles and Parameters in Vista
- Write and tune T-SQL against the Vista database (views, stored procedures, ad hoc queries) for reporting, data cleanup, and validation
- Support month-end and period close, including WIP, job cost, and financial reporting questions that need someone who speaks accounting
- Configure and troubleshoot core modules: General Ledger, AP, AR, Job Cost, Payroll, and Equipment (Service Management a plus)
- Build Inquiries, Notifiers, Work Centers, and custom fields to fit the client's process
- Support integrations and data flow between Vista and outside tools (Power BI, Excel, Spreadsheet Server, HH2, third-party apps)
- Document customizations and hand off clean, so the client isn't dependent on tribal knowledge
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Viewpoint Vista (any era counts: Viewpoint, Vista by Viewpoint, Viewpoint One, Trimble Construction One)
- Real construction accounting knowledge, especially job cost and the mechanics of a construction close
- Solid Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL skills, comfortable in the Vista back end
- Crystal Reports and/or SSRS report development
- Ability to talk to a controller and a database in the same afternoon and translate between them
Nice to have
- Accounting degree or equivalent bookkeeping/controller background
- Power BI, Power Automate, or Power Apps experience against Vista data
- Experience with Vista API, subcontractor portals, or AP automation
- Prior consulting or fractional work (comfortable scoping, estimating, and delivering without heavy oversight)
