About the role
As an Alstom VIE Field Engineer, you will undertake activities across three main site areas for Turn-key and Signaling Projects to deliver APM (Automated People Mover) solutions. This program involves rotating through Project Management, Installation, and Test & Commissioning functions, with each rotation lasting 6 months. You will be assisted by an experienced manager to ensure the success of your mission.
Responsibilities
- Project Management (6 months):
- Governance: Deploy and ensure the application of Project Management PM2020 processes. Support the Site Project Manager in managing internal interfaces with project engineering, procurement, supply chain, installation, and T&C.
- Planning: Support the elaboration and approval of the project schedule. Plan project activities and resources, update ODYC, and issue the release baseline sheet. Connect with key stakeholders and run workload reviews.
- Quality: Ensure the DFQ cycle is followed, log and resolve actions, and control NCRs and defects.
- People and Time Management: Supervise contractors, vendors, and project resources. Report training needs and ensure EHS compliance.
- Technical Scope: Review and update the Project Plan, prepare monthly Project Reviews, and summarize threats to the project critical path.
- Communication: Draft monthly reports, use Project KPIs, and support documentation for MPR.
- Installation Supervising (6 months):
- Governance: Deploy Installation processes and manage internal and external interfaces for installation activities.
- Planning: Elaborate and approve the 4-week Lookahead, represent Alstom at Access meetings, and plan installation activities and resources.
- Quality: Ensure ITC activities are carried out correctly, on time, and according to Alstom standards. Write and update installation method statements.
- People and Time Management: Supervise installation contractors, execute FMIs, and ensure EHS compliance.
- Technical Scope: Prepare and execute installation supervision and PICO tests. Identify defects and ensure compliance with system specifications.
- Communication: Provide daily reports, resolve technical deviations, record NCRs, and issue REX for lessons learned.
- Test & Commissioning (6 months):
- Governance: Deploy Installation and T&C processes and manage internal and external interfaces for T&C activities.
- Planning: Elaborate and approve the 4-week Lookahead, represent Alstom at Access meetings, and plan ITC activities and resources.
- Quality: Ensure ITC activities are carried out correctly, on time, and according to Alstom standards. Write and update method statements for installation and T&C.
- People and Time Management: Supervise installation contractors, develop team competencies, and ensure EHS compliance.
- Technical Scope: Prepare and execute tests, log analysis, and test reports. Identify and correct defects and ensure compliance with system specifications.
- Communication: Provide daily reports, resolve technical deviations, record NCRs, and issue REX for lessons learned.
- Performance Measurement: Participate in bi-monthly Coach Meetings with the Project Director to assess skills. Present a monthly Development Report and receive feedback from the Site Project Manager and ITC Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Previous experience in project management, installation, or test and commissioning is a plus.
- Fluent in English.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
