Videographer, Full-time

About the role

Videographer - Full-time, on location in Los Angeles. Planned start date January 11, 2027. Application closes November 30, 2026. You will help improve video quality and release more music education content for Pickup Music members, working in‑house at a growing education‑technical company.

Responsibilities

• Improve the quality of video production and help scale output of music education content.
• Learn Pickup Music’s video workflow and film your first class.
• Run video and audio on set for the majority of shoots (90% of work).
• Operate camera on occasional larger sets for band session or YouTube videos.
• Collaborate closely with the Head of Production, producers, and post‑production team.
• Participate in an iterative review process to refine each new class.
• Contribute to a growing body of work that supports music learning.

Requirements

• Highly technical and skilled at video production – mastery of video, lighting, comfortable with audio, set design, and working with talent.
• Great creative sensibility.
• Comfortable working in small teams with lightweight mirrorless cameras.
• Enjoy the creative challenge of optimizing quality while maximizing quantity of content.
• Desire to work in‑house at a growing education‑technical company, preferring a Monday‑Friday career role with normal working hours and ownership over your work.

Skills

• Video production, lighting, audio recording, set design, talent direction.
• Creative thinking and visual storytelling.
• Ability to work effectively in small, agile teams.
• Experience (or interest) in editing, graphics, or music production is a plus.

Pay

$60,000–$80,000 per year.

Schedule

Normal working hours, Monday–Friday. Fully in‑person role based in Los Angeles (studio currently in North East LA, with a possible new production space).
