Public Opinion Productions is a fast-growing media company based in New York City. We create digital series, including Track Star and Public Opinion, that connect with large audiences through human storytelling about culture and how the world works. We are building for the future of digital media: creator-led, audience-first, and designed to resonate across platforms. This is an opportunity to join a company with real momentum and play a meaningful role in our next phase of growth.

About the role

We’re hiring an experienced Videographer/Editor who is creatively driven, eager to collaborate, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of professional experience filming and editing documentary, journalistic, unscripted, or other non-fiction content and understands how to capture compelling stories in real-world environments.

This person will play a central role in producing episodes of our various original series, including Track Star and Public Opinion. They should be equally comfortable behind the camera and in the edit, with a strong eye for composition, natural moments, interviews, and story-driven footage.

Responsibilities

  • Film and edit videos for Track Star, Public Opinion, and other related projects.
  • Capture high-quality interviews, verité footage, events, and other non-fiction content in the field.
  • Collaborate with producers and other members of the creative team to develop stories from production through final delivery.
  • Make creative decisions in the field around framing, coverage, lighting, audio, and storytelling.
  • Edit footage into polished, engaging finished videos that align with the creative direction of each series.
  • Organize and manage footage, project files, timelines, and media assets.
  • Maintain a high quality of content while working efficiently and meeting internal and external deadlines.
  • Adapt quickly to changing production environments and work independently when needed.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of professional experience shooting and editing documentary, journalistic, unscripted, or other non-fiction content.
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling and the ability to identify and capture compelling moments in the field.
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Premiere; experience with After Effects and Photoshop is a plus.
  • Proficiency with professional camera equipment, production audio, and basic lighting setups.
  • Strong editorial instincts and an understanding of how footage can be shaped into a compelling story.
  • NYC based.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
