Video Production Instructor - Summer 2026
Job Description
The Video Production Instructor is responsible for leading students in daily video production workshops, including seminars in writing, directing, cinematography, editing, and graphics. Instructors will work with students in the field as they write, shoot, and edit one or more short films. Responsibilities include supervising campers both in and out of the classroom, guiding campers through the filmmaking process, and offering feedback in one-on-one sessions as needed. Instructors will also be responsible for tracking student work, handing in any deliverables to the camp director, and executing a screening showcasing student work at the end of camp. Instructors should have some professional experience in film and video production and be enthusiastic about guiding students through the filmmaking process.
Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience teaching video production at any level or significant professional experience.
- Bachelor's degree is required; preference is given to those with an advanced degree and/or professional experience.
- A calm and professional demeanor.
- The willingness and ability to work long hours.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong people skills.
- A passion for video production.
- In addition to teaching responsibilities, instructors should be available and willing to assist the camp director with active supervision, recreational activities, and some administrative tasks.
- Instructors are expected to act as mentors and will help lead field trips and guide students on excursions.
- This is a residential position — room, board, and parking on campus are provided for the duration of the program.
