About the Role

We are one of the most respected and dynamic general contractors in the nation, seeking a Video Editor to collaborate with marketing, communications, creative, and internal teams. The role involves transforming raw footage into high-quality finished videos that support marketing, communications, executive messaging, corporate initiatives, employee communications, training, and more.
Responsibilities
- Enforce corporate brand standards to maintain a consistent look across all materials.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and the production team to bring video concepts to fruition.
- Edit video from approved shot lists, storyboards, or scripts, emphasizing storytelling, impact, and engagement.
- Assemble interview, mini-doc, explainer, and highlight content from long-form footage, identifying strong soundbites and narrative through lines.
- Use music and sound effects to enhance storytelling.
- Mix and enhance audio—level dialogue, clean up production sound, and balance music beds for multiple delivery platforms.
- Color correct and grade footage to achieve a polished, consistent look.
- Design and animate motion graphics (titles, lower thirds, data visualization, logo animation) that support video messaging.
- Build and maintain motion graphics templates to keep recurring series on brand and on schedule.
- Manage project timelines from rough cut through final delivery, incorporating feedback efficiently.
- Research and understand industry and design trends.
- Create and maintain an organized project file structure.
- Ingest, back up, and manage media, including proxy workflows and archiving of completed projects.
- Catalogue and organize completed media for accessibility across the organization.
- Support creation of video assets and digital projects (e.g., company apps, website, intranet, digital signage).
- Serve as a backup for filming needs when necessary.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in videography, media, communications, or a related field (required).
- 5+ years of prior editing experience in a fast-paced, production-related role (preferred).
- Advanced proficiency in DaVinci Resolve and Adobe After Effects, with working knowledge of the broader Adobe Creative Suite.
- Demonstrated motion graphics ability—reel or portfolio showing original design and animation work (preferred).
- Working knowledge of audio post, color grading, and delivery specifications across platforms.
- Familiarity with camera formats, codecs, and media management (transcoding, proxies, archiving).
- Comfortable operating pro-level digital cameras and audio kits to back up primary team resources when needed.
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure, multitask, and meet aggressive deadlines.
- Commitment to supporting the marketing group, including occasional additional hours.
- Strong executive and client interaction skills.
- Understanding of the construction industry (a plus).
- Availability for local and out-of-town travel (10%).
