About the role

The Waukesha County District Attorney’s Office – Victim Witness Assistance Program is seeking a Victim/Witness Case Manager to join our team. This position provides direct services to crime victims, assists the Victim Witness Director with day-to-day operations of the program, and serves as a team leader. You will be responsible for providing services to victims and witnesses of crime for your own cases, assisting teammates with complex situations, and helping plan and monitor case assignments for the program.

While a strong understanding of victims’ rights and the justice system is important, this role prioritizes people skills and a dedication to helping others. Our work directly supports community safety and quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct services to crime victims and witnesses
  • Assist the Victim Witness Director with day-to-day program operations
  • Manage your own caseload of victims and witnesses
  • Support teammates with complex case situations and coverage
  • Plan and monitor case assignments for the program
  • Deliver knowledgeable, compassionate support and exceptional customer service

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university in social work, counseling, psychology, sociology, or a closely related field
  • One (1) year of work experience in victim witness services, social work, psychology, counseling, or a closely related field
  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or a related field may substitute for the required work experience
