About the role

The position serves as a Management and Program Analyst (Project Manager) for the Victim Notification System (VNS) in the Legal Programs Office of the Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA).

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and analyzes issues, problems, and challenges facing Victim Notification System (VNS); formulates and evaluates possible courses of action for resolving challenges; draws conclusions based on relevant facts; and recommends solutions to management.
  • Develops, selects, adapts, and employs qualitative and quantitative methods, procedures, and systems for assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of the structure of VNS; management policies, practices, and procedures; and administrative operations, processes, and mechanisms.
  • Evaluates program requirements and information required to assess practices and develop recommendations to improve information reporting systems.
  • Advises managers and program officials on VNS management or policies and procedures.
  • Carries out projects related to VNS that involve working with other EOUSA staffs and leadership, other DOJ components and leadership, and the USAOs.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Your initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication, including fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing.
  • Your continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
  • If selected, you may be required to complete a one-year probationary period.
  • Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
  • GS-12 Specialized Experience: Utilizing and operating the Victim Notification System (VNS); assisting with data collection and analysis related to victim notification; and participating in the preparation of reports and correspondence associated with Victim Notification System (VNS) operations.
  • GS-13 Specialized Experience: Providing comprehensive Victim Notification System (VNS) accessibility and usability oversight; responding to victim-witness inquiries and resolving system-related issues; and offering guidance on policies and procedures governing the Victim Notification System (VNS).

Qualifications

  • To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 in Federal Service.
  • To be eligible at the GS-13 level, you must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in Federal Service.
