About the role
The Victim Advocate position plays a crucial role in supporting crime victims and their families through the legal process. The position involves providing assistance, training to volunteer advocates, and court accompaniment.
Responsibilities
- Orients victims, witnesses, and family members to the court process and explains their rights.
- Makes referrals to social service agencies and compensation programs.
- Provides court accompaniment for victims and witnesses.
- Trains volunteer advocates.
- Aids in report preparation.
- Interviews victims, witnesses, and significant individuals as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in behavioral science, criminal justice, education, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- One (1) year of experience in teaching or social service.
- Valid Arizona driver's license and ability to be covered by county insurance.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Arizona criminal justice system procedures and process.
- Knowledge of Arizona Victims' Rights Statutes or ability to obtain.
- Knowledge of community resources and state/county regulations and procedures.
- Ability to interview and investigate effectively.
- Ability to maintain statistical data and write reports.
Skills
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to interact with diverse populations.
- Ability to handle emotionally charged situations.
- Statistical data maintenance and report writing skills.
Benefits

Pay
$21.70 hourly.
