About the role
The Vice President of User Experience & Design is responsible for defining and delivering the end-to-end experience across CNH's global portfolio of digital products, vehicle interfaces, and operator environments. This executive leads the strategy and execution for User Experience, User Research, Industrial Design, Common Cab Design, Ergonomics, Design Systems, and Global Product Translations to create intuitive, differentiated, and customer-centric experiences across Agriculture and Construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the global User Experience strategy across CNH's digital products, vehicle interfaces, and operator experiences.
- Lead a multidisciplinary global organization including User Experience Design, User Research, Industrial Design, Common Cab Design, Ergonomics, Design Systems, and Global Product Translations.
- Establish a unified design vision that creates consistent experiences across software, hardware, machine controls, mobile applications, web platforms, and connected ecosystems.
- Define common interaction models, operator workflows, and design standards that enable consistency while supporting differentiation across CNH brands.
- Lead the Industrial Design strategy for future generations of Agriculture and Construction equipment, ensuring products balance functionality, usability, ergonomics, manufacturability, and brand identity.
- Drive Common Cab Design strategy, including operator controls, display layouts, physical interfaces, seating environments, visibility, storage, and human factors across vehicle platforms.
- Establish ergonomic design principles that improve operator comfort, productivity, safety, and long-term usability.
- Own the enterprise Design System, interaction standards, component libraries, new AI tools, and design governance to ensure consistency and scalability across products.
- Lead customer experience research programs including field observations, contextual inquiry, usability testing, focus groups, customer clinics, surveys, and prototype evaluations across global markets.
- Translate customer insights into actionable experience strategies and design concepts.
- Partner with Product Management and Engineering throughout the product development lifecycle to ensure customer needs remain central to product decisions.
- Monitor global market trends, customer behaviors, competitive products, emerging technologies, AI advancements, and industry best practices to guide future experience strategy.
- Progress our benchmarking strategies that evaluate software experiences, physical products, industrial design, ergonomics, and operator workflows against competitive offerings.
- Enable global product launches by providing design assets, experience documentation, and customer-focused messaging that clearly communicates product value.
- Maintain and evolve a multi-year Experience Strategy and Design Roadmap that aligns customer needs, emerging technologies, and CNH business objectives.
Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Product Design, Engineering, Psychology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive experience leading User Experience, Product Design, Industrial Design, Human Factors, or related disciplines.
- 10+ years leading multidisciplinary design organizations in a global environment.
- Demonstrated experience designing integrated customer experiences that span hardware, software, and physical products.
- Proven success partnering with Product Management and Engineering to influence product strategy and deliver customer-centered solutions.
- Experience building and leading high-performing global teams through organizational growth and change.
- Strong executive communication skills with experience influencing senior leadership and presenting to executive stakeholders.
- Ability to travel globally up to 25–35%, including customer visits, dealer engagement, product evaluations, and development activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within Agriculture, Construction, Automotive, Commercial Vehicles, Industrial Equipment, Robotics, Aerospace, or other complex equipment industries.
- Examples of defining and launching common operator experiences (across vehicles) that led to a reduction of internal complexity.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled products and/or autonomous operations.
- Demonstrated ability to implement new AI tools that drive design, development and research efficiencies.
