About the role
The Vice President, Transaction Advisory will be based in one of our Beachwood OH, Grand Rapids MI, Plano TX, or Dana Point CA offices. This role is responsible for executing transaction advisory projects and providing strategy and oversight to MarshBerry’s Transaction Advisory practice, ensuring services are delivered effectively, efficiently, and consistently. The Vice President will collaborate with project leads to review work and drive continual improvement in processes, resources, and deliverables. This role is pivotal in expanding MarshBerry’s buy-side advisory practice, which has significant growth opportunities.
This is a hybrid position requiring onsite work Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.
Responsibilities
- Serve as client-facing lead on transaction advisory projects and maintain client relationships to ensure successful execution.
- Act as subject matter expert for MarshBerry transaction advisory services, providing training, guidance, and technical support.
- Drive successful projects by developing and maintaining client relationships.
- Monitor active transaction advisory projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timelines and commitments are met.
- Develop quality of earnings analyses by assessing the sustainability of target company earnings and forecast achievability.
- Analyze target company data for working capital considerations, potential liabilities, and risks impacting valuation.
- Lead engagement teams in client and lender conversations, interfacing with senior executives.
- Identify key risks, assess business strengths and weaknesses, and evaluate transactions in the context of the client’s investment strategy, including benchmark comparisons.
- Ensure quality of client deliverables, including financial due diligence aspects such as earnings quality, working capital, production analysis, and revenue testing.
- Collaborate with project leads to resolve issues impacting project status.
- Improve processes, deliverables, and quality control measures for accuracy, consistency, and client satisfaction.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and incorporate best practices.
- Cultivate relationships with internal/external clients, partners, and stakeholders to drive revenue generation.
- Handle other special projects, tasks, or duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; Master’s degree or CPA is a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in transaction advisory, financial due diligence, or audit.
- Insurance industry experience is beneficial but not required.
- Self-motivated with a professional presence.
- Proven experience leading project teams.
- Experience developing and delivering presentations to small and large audiences; strong written communication skills.
- Demonstrated business acumen and ability to grasp new business concepts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Analytical with proactive and creative problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail while managing multiple engagements.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Ability to work flexible or extended hours as needed.
