Vice President Supply Chain Enterprise Strategic Sourcing

About the Role

The Vice President of Supply Chain Strategic Sourcing will oversee and optimize the end-to-end strategic sourcing for all clinical, professional services, indirect, lab, IS&T, and capital-based products, goods, and services across the Jefferson enterprise. This role involves developing and executing best-in-class strategic sourcing methodologies, leading a high-performing team, and maintaining return-on-investment calculations for strategic sourcing initiatives.

Key responsibilities include assessing and administering enterprise economic value and standardization initiatives, establishing a uniform capital strategic sourcing process, and leading data preparation for product approvals through the Clinical Value Analysis Process. The role also governs Jefferson’s group purchasing strategy, emergency preparedness inventory program, and country-of-origin strategy for medical supplies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a standardized, enterprise-wide supply chain strategic sourcing strategy, methodology, and vision to create a high-reliability, best-in-class organization.
• Create and manage a comprehensive five-year strategic business plan to align supply chain operations with Jefferson’s mission, vision, and key objectives.
• Lead and cultivate a high-reliability supply chain organization, including personnel development and succession planning for critical leadership roles.
• Oversee the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide Supply Chain Strategic Sourcing program, including productivity standards and assessments.
• Define and develop supply chain policies, methods, standards, and tools to advance strategic sourcing spend under management and operational excellence.
• Establish and leverage enterprise supply chain management analytics to drive best-in-class strategic sourcing improvements, collaborating with Finance and Service Lines on margin improvement.
• Identify, develop, and achieve cost savings and efficiency targets for all products, goods, and purchased services.
• Develop and implement internal controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws, accreditation requirements, and health plan program requirements.
• Improve product standardization, aggregation, economic value, business continuity, and risk mitigation.
• Act as a supply chain business advisor to senior leadership and affiliate leaders to achieve organizational targets.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration to optimize operational efficiency and enhance productivity.
• Develop, implement, and assess key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Build and nurture a high-performance Strategic Sourcing team, fostering innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to operational leadership to enable excellence in their roles.
• Manage operational budgets, resource allocation, and capital expenditure to optimize efficiency while meeting financial goals.
• Stay informed about global supply chain constraints, mitigation strategies, and country-of-origin ramifications, suggesting strategic partnerships to enhance Jefferson’s mission.
• Administer operational budgets, allocate resources, and propose capital investments to optimize Supply Chain Strategic Sourcing and financial goals.
• Develop and cultivate diverse supplier and community-based purchasing strategies in collaboration with the Chief of Staff and Chief Health Equity and Community Office.

Qualifications

Proven leadership experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain management, or a related field, with a track record of developing and executing enterprise-wide strategies. Strong analytical skills, including the ability to dissect benchmark analytics and drive data-driven decision-making. Experience in fostering high-performance teams, mentoring leaders, and implementing succession plans.
