Ada Infrastructure · Bellevue, WA · 2 wk ago
Engineering$235k–$255k/yrFull-time

About the role

As North America Solutions Engineer, you will serve as Ada’s technical authority in customer engagements—translating hyperscaler, AI, and neo-cloud requirements into credible, scalable, and financeable infrastructure solutions. You bring a holistic knowledge of data center systems and the commercial judgment to balance speed-to-market, performance, capital efficiency, and execution risk while avoiding over-engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary technical lead in presales engagements with hyperscale cloud providers, AI platform companies, and neo-cloud operators.
  • Partner with Sales to shape pursuit strategy, solution positioning, and deal structure for large-scale, multi-MW transactions.
  • Lead technical discovery and solution definition with customer stakeholders across infrastructure engineering, capacity planning, AI platform teams, and executive leadership.
  • Translate workload requirements (density, cooling, resiliency, deployment speed, expansion) into clear technical assumptions that can be priced, underwritten, contracted, and delivered.
  • Support RFPs/RFIs and complex negotiations by developing technical responses, option sets, and risk-aware recommendations.
  • Enable Commercial teams with repeatable solution frameworks, competitive differentiation, and consistent “what we will/won’t do” technical guardrails.
  • Build and maintain database for customer responses to drive higher consistency, faster turnaround and quality in responses.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Development, Power, Delivery, Operations, and Finance to validate feasibility, constructability, schedule, and execution risk during pursuits.
  • Leverage internal Design & Innovation expertise to translate Ada future ready design and standards into customer-specific infrastructure solutions addressing high-density power, advanced cooling, resiliency, and rapid scalability.
  • Partner with Design & Innovation to define and maintain reference architectures, design guardrails, and customer-facing technical narratives used in proposals and executive engagements.
  • Partner with the Product team to represent “Voice of Customer” around repeatable solution offerings, capture customer feedback, and inform platform roadmap priorities (AI-ready features, modularity, deployment models).

Requirements

  • Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in solutions engineering, technical presales, customer engineering, or customer-facing infrastructure engineering roles.
  • Deep understanding of digital infrastructure supporting hyperscale cloud, AI, and GPU-intensive workloads.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer workload requirements into infrastructure-level solutions, assumptions, and deliverable concepts.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with a cross-functional team and with technical and executive audiences.
  • Commercially disciplined judgment navigating tradeoffs between capital, schedule, risk, and customer performance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large, complex, multi-stakeholder transactions and negotiating technical-commercial tradeoffs.
  • Familiarity with high-density power delivery, liquid cooling strategies, and rapid deployment/modular construction models.
  • Experience building repeatable solution frameworks, reference architectures, and enablement assets for go-to-market teams.
  • Experience working closely with product and design organizations to evolve platform standards and customer-facing offerings.
