About the role
Responsible for driving sales in an assigned channel, team, or account to meet revenue goals by developing effective business plans and sales strategies. Provides leadership and direction to sales teammates and teams through effective communication, setting expectations, and monitoring and driving sales drivers and results.
Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor programs to attract, interview, hire, train, develop, and retain quality teammates.
- Effectively manage teammates including selection, hiring, objective setting, performance management, development planning, capacity planning, disciplinary action, and terminations.
- Identify and develop talented teammates, create a motivating atmosphere for learning and growth, provide coaching and feedback, and groom teammates for advancement.
- Set and manage teammate and client satisfaction and retention goals.
- Help define and execute strategic and operating plans for the organization while ensuring a proper risk control environment.
- Partner with operational support areas to meet SLA requirements and achieve strong customer satisfaction scores.
- Maintain and enhance client service levels in collaboration with operations leaders.
- Stay updated on new developments in the insurance market through periodicals, seminars, industry memberships, and engagement with brokers and carriers.
- Drive maintenance and growth opportunities within assigned region, territory, or accounts.
- Initiate and coordinate sales promotion activities and new product launches to achieve sales and profitability objectives.
- Provide direction and leadership to sales teammates and their teams.
- Develop strategic business plans for assigned teams and conduct effective planning sessions.
- Create sales strategies to increase sales metrics and results, ensuring sales plans are achieved.
- Monitor and communicate sales results of locations.
- Ensure the sales organization promotes and cross-sells products, utilizes Advanced Sales to increase average premium size, and achieves balanced performance from sales teammates.
- Develop and implement sales strategies using technology, marketing, CRM, and DSR.
- Identify individual selling skills and product knowledge deficiencies.
- Develop target markets, blitz sessions, and follow-up on marketing efforts.
- Create, implement, and drive effective lead generation and referral programs.
- Manage towards P&L and margin goals.
Requirements
- Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Capable of working independently as well as in a team environment.
- Experience with PCs in a Windows environment and proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions.
- Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and work-related experience.
- Five years of related sales management experience, including business and strategic planning, sales management, budget management, people leadership, and operations management.
- Strong sales background in leading large sales teams and/or accounts with a proven record of exceeding team sales quotas.
- Significant sales and sales leadership experience in the insurance industry.
- Proficiency in various insurance product lines and industry knowledge.
- Strong project management, organizational, and executive presentation skills.
- Ability to build strong, effective relationships as a leader, team member, and resource.
- Strong business acumen and general knowledge of service-profit chain methodologies.
- Must possess and maintain appropriate FINRA registrations (e.g., Series 6 and 26).
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry designations.
- Advanced knowledge of Crump.
