About the role
Highly visible, front-office-facing role within the RAD (Rapid Application Development) team, covering both Global Credit and Macro business lines with a focus on Fixed Income products—including Options, Exotics, FX, Inflation, Emerging Markets, Swaps, Bonds, and Repo across New York and LATAM regions. Responsible for developing and providing front-line support for risk and P&L tools used by fixed-income trading desks across the Americas, with an emphasis on tactical rapid delivery.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain risk and P&L tools for fixed-income trading desks.
- Deliver timely management reports and collaborate on RAD system development, support, and maintenance while complying with IT governance.
- Ensure system stability, maintain quality, and mitigate operational risk.
- Coordinate data transfer with external providers.
- Collaborate closely with trading, sales, business management, regulatory, quantitative research, application support, back office, and operations to implement tactical and strategic solutions for improved application performance.
- Plan, execute, test, and deploy software updates and enhancements to meet business requirements, ensuring appropriate segregation of development and production.
- Conduct research, draft presentations, and address IT governance within systems, identifying root causes of operational incidents and proposing mitigation strategies.
- Present to quantitative-research, middle-office, front-office sales, and trading teams within the context of Risk and P&L.
- Perform data analysis and visualization to help stakeholders make data-driven decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Financial Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related role.
- OR Master’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in the same fields and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a related role.
- Five (5) years of experience (or three with a Master’s) in Rapid Application Development (RAD) or a front-office-facing role focused on Fixed Income products within an international bank or financial services organization.
- Three (3) years of experience with:
- Fixed Income instruments and derivatives, including Interest Rates Swaps, Options, Exotics, FX, Inflation, Emerging Markets, Swaps, Bonds, and Repo products across New York and LATAM regions.
- Software development in SQL, Python (including scientific packages), Excel/VBA, and DevOps tools.
- Building and maintaining software reporting tools.
- Addressing IT governance, identifying root causes of operational incidents, and proposing tactical and strategic mitigation solutions.
- Developing Risk and P&L tools and providing analysis and support for fixed-income trading desks within the Americas.
Pay
$158,791 – $200,000 per year.
Schedule
9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday (40 hours per week).
