About the role
The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior-level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities
- Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code.
- Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systems.
- Apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications.
- Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, as well as conduct testing and debugging.
- Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower-level analysts.
- Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgements to recommend and implement solutions.
- Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through the applications of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents.
- Operate with a limited level of direct supervision; exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
- Act as subject matter expert (SME) to senior stakeholders and/or other team members.
- Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals, as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements.
- Resolve a variety of high-impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards.
- Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming, ensuring application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint.
- Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals.
- Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions.
- Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
Requirements
- 6+ years of relevant experience.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis role.
- Hands-on experience in Java 17+, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Design Patterns, Microservices, Angular, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
- 7+ years of experience in large-scale Apps development as a Full Stack developer with experience using modern technology (e.g., Java, J2EE, Angular JS, SQL, Spring, Hibernate, OpenShift).
- Back-end: Spring, Spring Boot, Java, Hibernate, Design Patterns, Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, Python, etc.
- Good working knowledge of source code control tools and technologies.
- Good working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, build tools like Jenkins, and deployment tools like RLM.
- Strong fundamentals of OOPS (Object-Oriented Programming Standards) Concepts, Data Structures, and Algorithms.
- Strong experience developing and architecting integrated solutions with non-functional requirements like scalability, high availability, and consistency.
- Ability to write "Clean code" using Core Java, JEE, Collections, Multithreading.
- Strong experience with API and Web Services development using REST/SOAP protocols.
- Fundamental database concepts and experience with a relational database such as Oracle.
- Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries.
- Good understanding of Unit testing and test coverage.
- Ability and willingness to work across multiple tools, frameworks, and technology stacks.
- Fundamental understanding of and experience with cloud platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Good understanding of Standard, Enterprise Design Patterns, and SOLID principles.
- Good understanding of Containers and Docker deployment.
- Strong knowledge of testing frameworks like JUnit.
- Experience in performance tuning of applications and analyzing issues using tools like JProfiler/AppDynamics.
- Experience in performing effective code and design reviews.
- Extensive experience in system analysis and programming of software applications.
- Experience in managing and implementing successful projects.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development.
- Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
- Knowledge of Business Process Model tools.
- Strong knowledge of fixing CVM, CVMP, GEM's.
- Strong experience in migrating applications of WebSphere Application Servers.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Pay
$125,760.00 - $188,640.00. In addition to salary, Citi’s offerings may also include, for eligible employees, discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
