Responsibilities
A day in the life of a Vice President of Purchasing at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
- Lead a team across the network to implement PeopleSoft and GHX to all Legacy Meridian sites as PeopleSoft is rolled out in preparation for Epic.
- Provide training and follow-up to new users to ensure a thorough understanding of the new system, essential for all future ordering and maintenance of supplies.
- Training on the specific tools for GHX will also be part of this responsibility.
- Administer the HMH centralized purchasing program and assure order processing is accomplished within 24 to 48 hours after requisitions are generated.
- Manage the Purchasing tasks related to the HMH inventory.
- Conduct market research and coordinate product and equipment evaluations, including the preparation of financial analysis.
- Prepare Request for Proposal, bid summaries including HMH Group Purchasing Options, and vendor performance analysis to provide a basis for contract decisions.
- Assist in the negotiating process.
- Coordinate the purchase of capital goods within HMH guidelines.
- Coordinate stat order requirements.
- Coordinate the resolution of receipt and invoice variances within the established timelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a Purchasing Department, preferably in the Health Care environment, with 5 years of supervisory/management experience.
Pay
Minimum rate of $237,889.60 annually.
