Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary procurement lead for all owner-furnished equipment across multiple data center projects, ensuring alignment with design, schedule, and performance requirements.
- Directly manage relationships with OEMs, distributors, and specialty vendors of mission-critical infrastructure such as switchgear, UPS systems, CRACs, PDUs, chillers, generators, and high-voltage equipment.
- Drive the competitive sourcing process for OFCI packages: issue RFIs and RFPs, manage vendor Q&A, evaluate responses, and present clear recommendations for award to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with design, development, and construction teams to align OFCI procurement schedules with fast-track project timelines and construction sequencing.
- Work with internal teams to define technical and performance specifications for OFCI packages; coordinate with engineers to ensure documentation supports accurate vendor scoping.
- Develop detailed bid and leveling packages for OFCI equipment, with an emphasis on total cost, lead times, warranty terms, logistics, and commissioning support.
- Maintain production timelines, shipping milestones, and on-site delivery logistics in coordination with construction managers and trade contractors.
- Lead scope review meetings and commercial negotiations with vendors; ensure contracts support project needs related to lead time, reliability, and uptime expectations.
- Track and report OFCI procurement status across multiple projects, including commitments, remaining exposure, change orders, and cost impacts.
- Stay current on supply chain trends in power and cooling equipment, identifying risks to schedule or pricing and proposing mitigation strategies.
- Support project teams in resolving equipment-related disputes, delivery delays, or commissioning challenges; act as point of escalation for vendor performance issues.
- Cook up closeout documentation and warranty onboarding for all OFCI assets, ensuring a smooth transition to operations teams and facilities management.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in real estate development, procurement, or construction management, with at least 5 years leading OFCI procurement for data centers or similar mission-critical infrastructure.
- Demonstrated expertise in vendor negotiation, equipment sourcing, and procurement strategy for electrical and mechanical infrastructure in hyperscale or colocation environments.
- Deep understanding of long-lead mission-critical components, including their role in commissioning and integration.
- Strong ability to read and interpret complex design documents, technical specifications, procurement schedules, and vendor proposals.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including coordination with internal teams, OEMs, and contractors.
- Experience developing and managing procurement schedules, tracking tools, and reporting frameworks for multi-phase data center builds.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
Pay
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives and a comprehensive benefits package. Anticipated base salary range: $250,000 - $300,000+. Actual base salary within the anticipated range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and market factors.
