Vice President Operations, North America

About the Role

Join Hitachi Energy as the Vice President of Operations for our Distribution Transformer business unit in North America. This remote-based leadership role offers the opportunity to shape the future of sustainable power infrastructure by driving operational excellence, strategic growth, and continuous improvement across multiple manufacturing locations.

Responsibilities

• Implement the North America strategy to ensure business development and sustainable growth in the market.
• Achieve established operational targets, including Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), Quality, and P&L, through regular oversight and improvement actions.
• Lead, own, and secure year-on-year performance targets set by North America BU leadership.
• Enhance Distribution Transformers North America performance and ensure timely reporting of operational and financial results.
• Orchestrate the local team, including direct reports and North America functions, to ensure operational capacity and capability.
• Ensure timely delivery of products, projects, and services, meeting targets for HSE, quality, schedule, financial results, and customer satisfaction.
• Align Distribution Transformers North America with the global Product Group strategy and maintain focus on common targets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Drive culture and behavioral change to continuously improve compliance, productivity, delivery, and cost optimization.
• Ensure project quality capacity aligns with operational requirements to support customer project delivery.
• Implement HSE and business compliance standards, including internal and country-specific regulations.
• Maintain a secure work environment and uphold integrity performance through ongoing HSE improvement processes.
• Ensure the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled, and directed.
• Guide, motivate, and develop subordinates according to HR policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
• Preferred: Master’s Degree (MBA or relevant field).
• 10 to 15 years of factory management experience, including implementation of Lean principles in traditional manufacturing.
• Proven track record of leading teams and managing projects with strategic oversight of a product or product group.
• Experience managing manufacturing units across multiple locations and geographies.
• Permanent US work authorization.

Pay

Competitive base compensation of $225K - $290K plus incentives based on experience.
