Vice President, Operations- North America
About the role
The Vice President, North America Operations is accountable for end-to-end operational execution across North America, ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable delivery of products and services that support Materials Solutions' (MS) customers, partners, and internal stakeholders. This executive leads multi-site and distributed teams and drives operational excellence across service delivery, supply chain and logistics, customer/field operations, business continuity, and governance—balancing performance, cost, risk, and employee experience. This role partners closely with Finance, HR, Security, Legal/Compliance, R&D, Engineering, Sales, and Support to translate strategy into measurable operational outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all operational activities, ensuring efficiency, strategic alignment, and organizational growth while managing teams and cross-functional processes.
- Responsible for managing day-to-day operations and ensuring that business processes are efficient, effective, and aligned with organizational goals.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to meet company objectives.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage operations managers and staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Process Optimization: Monitor workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement solutions to improve productivity and operational performance.
- Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, P&L responsibilities, and resource allocation to ensure financial efficiency.
- Sets and executes the North America operations strategy aligned to MS business priorities, translating enterprise goals into operational plans, OKRs, budgets, and performance mechanisms.
- Leads multi-site service delivery and operational teams to achieve predictable outcomes across availability, quality, customer satisfaction, cycle time, and cost-to-serve.
- Owes operational governance, business reviews, and executive reporting; establishes clear accountability, operational controls, and risk management across the region.
- Drives continuous improvement through lean operating models, standard work, and AI/data-enabled process automation (e.g., forecasting, routing, capacity planning, and self-service).
- Buils and develops an inclusive leadership team; drives talent development, succession planning, and organizational health in partnership with HR.
- Leads cross-functional change management for operating model transformations, vendor transitions, and new program launches; ensures effective communications and stakeholder alignment.
- Ensures operational resilience, security, privacy, and regulatory compliance through disciplined incident management, business continuity planning, and partner governance; champions a strong safety culture for all site-based operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably chemical engineering; an advanced degree (MBA or MS) or equivalent executive experience is preferred.
- 15+ years of progressively responsible operations leadership, including senior leadership of large, distributed teams and multi-site (or multi-region) operations with experience preferrably in a semiconductor or chemical manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated success delivering operational excellence using modern improvement methods (Lean, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints) and product/service operations best practices; strong financial acumen and ability to run to an operating rhythm.
- Expertise in end-to-end operations (service delivery, supply chain/logistics, vendor management) and in using data, analytics, and AI to improve forecasting, capacity, quality, and customer experience.
- Strong executive presence and ability to influence across Engineering, Sales, Support, Finance, HR, and Compliance; proven ability to lead through ambiguity and drive cross-company outcomes.
- Commitment to MS culture and leadership expectations, including inclusive leadership, customer obsession, ethical decision-making, and operational rigor.

Pay
$275,000.00-$330,00.00 per year range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role
