About the role

The Vice President of Operations for Mount St. Mary's Hospital is responsible for managing the daily operations of Mount St. Mary's Hospital Lewiston, Lockport Memorial, NAC, and Mount St. Mary's Offsites (MSM). This position drives performance, implements operational initiatives, programs, and services, integrates with service lines, and interacts with physicians and staff. Accountable for directing and coordinating assigned operations in compliance with Joint Commission and regulatory guidelines for patient care delivery. Provides site leadership as the designated on-site administrator, reporting directly to the Hospital President.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of multiple hospital sites and offsite locations
• Drive performance and implement operational initiatives, programs, and services
• Integrate with service lines and interact with physicians and staff
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and regulatory guidelines for patient care delivery
• Provide site leadership as the designated on-site administrator
• Manage financial applications, reimbursement, budgetary, and P&L responsibilities for high-volume, complex clinical and operational services
• Develop and implement operational reengineering and strategic planning

Requirements

• Master’s in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or related field (must be obtained within three years if not already held)
• Minimum of five to ten years of progressive operations work experience
• Minimum of three years of operations experience within a healthcare environment
• Five years of senior management experience in a complex, multifaceted organization
• Minimum of three years of management experience within healthcare
• Experience working with physicians and senior management
• Proven track record in financial management, including reimbursement, budgetary, and P&L responsibility

Skills

• Knowledge of governance, leadership, management, and service-oriented operations
• Familiarity with Federal and New York State rules and regulations regarding Article 28 facilities and reimbursement
• Proficiency in Joint Commission standards and survey processes
• Experience with information systems applications, implementation, and operations in a multi-site healthcare organization
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and teamwork skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Strong strategic planning, analytical, and organizational skills
