About the role
Penn State Health is seeking a Vice President of Oncology Service Line (MD) to set the strategic direction for oncology services, optimize performance, and drive integration across academic and community settings.
Responsibilities
- Set the strategic direction for oncology services, strengthening and expanding programs across the system
- Optimize performance, quality, and value across the oncology continuum, including inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory settings
- Lead service line development and growth, aligning clinical, operational, and financial priorities
- Drive integration across academic and community settings, ensuring consistency in care delivery and patient experience
- Partner in advancing value-based care strategies through Penn State Health Care Partners
- Influence physician recruitment, network expansion, and program development to meet future demand
Requirements
- MD or DO with board certification in oncology (medical or surgical)
- Active Pennsylvania licensure
- 7+ years of clinical experience (10+ preferred), with ongoing clinical engagement
- Proven experience in service line development and growth
- Demonstrated physician leadership experience (medical director, executive committee, or equivalent)
- Ability to lead in a dyad model and influence across academic faculty, community physicians, and executive leadership
