Vice President of Strategy
About the role
We are looking for a Vice President - Strategy to join our Leadership Team and work directly with the CEO on the company’s highest-priority strategic decisions, board preparation, and major initiatives.
Responsibilities
Lead the company’s annual strategic and operating planning process — setting the agenda, driving cross-functional alignment, and ensuring the plan is built on rigorous analysis
Build and maintain the analytical infrastructure that makes Earned’s key operational and growth levers visible and actionable
Identify the specific drivers that move revenue, margin, and client outcomes most significantly
Quantify the tradeoffs between competing priorities
Ensure every major operational or commercial decision has clear analytical grounding — this person should be a material influencer on which growth and operational levers get pulled
Own the creation and quality of Board materials — translating Earned’s strategy into analytic frameworks and narratives that advance specific decisions, not just report status
Drive the company’s most consequential cross-functional strategy work — leading high-priority strategic projects that span business lines, service offerings, or growth initiatives; taking full ownership from problem definition and analytical framing through stakeholder alignment and decision; and ensuring each initiative moves from ambiguity to a concrete plan with defined owners
Build Earned’s market expansion framework — identifying new geographies, client segments, and channel opportunities with the greatest strategic fit and near-term commercial potential, and sequencing them against current capacity and growth objectives
Act as the company’s center for commercial and revenue model innovation — interrogating how Earned generates and optimizes revenue, and identifying non-obvious monetization opportunities
Serve as the analytical and strategic right hand to the CEO on major decisions — preparing the analysis, frameworks, and options that inform the most consequential choices, and ensuring the CEO is never walking into a high-stakes conversation underprepared
Structure priority ELT discussions and decision follow-through on major strategic topics
What Success Looks Like
First 90 Days: Build a deep understanding of Earned’s business, strategy, and growth priorities; take ownership of Board materials preparation; lead at least one high-impact strategic initiative end-to-end; improve the company’s strategic planning process — producing a clearer, more analytically grounded annual plan and operating review cadence
6–12 Months: The strategic planning process is producing clearer enterprise priorities with defined owners — leadership is making decisions faster and with greater confidence; Board materials have shifted from descriptive to decision-oriented — each package advances specific choices, not just a status update; at least one major strategic initiative has moved from ambiguity to implementation; Concrete revenue producing ideas have been brought to the table, vetted and prioritized
Core Qualifications
6–10 years of experience in top-tier consulting, private equity, or corporate strategy
Exceptional analytical ability and structured problem-solving skills
Strong communication and presentation skills — able to synthesize complex information into clear strategic insights
Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; strong financial modeling skills — able to build the analytical models that quantify Earned’s key operational and growth levers and size the tradeoffs between competing priorities
Demonstrated ability to conduct rigorous primary and secondary research — competitive analysis, operating model benchmarking, and synthesizing evidence into clear, actionable conclusions
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
Preferred Experience
Experience supporting executive leadership teams or C-suite executives
Exposure to Board communications, investor relations, or M&A
Experience in a PE-backed and/or rapidly scaling organization in financial services, professional services, or a related sector with an acquisitive growth strategy and multiple service or product offerings
