Vice President of Perioperative Services

Responsibilities

• Provides senior operational leadership for the assigned service line across the ARH system, translating organizational strategy into consistent execution, measurable outcomes, and sustainable operating performance.
• Develops and implements system-wide service line strategies, operating standards, workflows, performance expectations, and improvement plans aligned with ARH strategic priorities.
• Partners with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing, hospital leadership, supply chain, infection prevention, quality, finance, and scheduling teams to improve surgical access, utilization, throughput, safety, and patient experience.
• Ensures perioperative services maintain compliance with CMS, accreditation, infection prevention, sterile processing, anesthesia, surgical safety, documentation, and life safety requirements.
• Leads system initiatives related to block utilization, case scheduling, first-case starts, turnover time, preference card accuracy, implant and supply cost management, instrument readiness, and perioperative growth strategy.
• Oversees operational, financial, quality, regulatory, workforce, productivity, and patient experience performance for assigned departments, programs, and services.
• Promotes a culture aligned with ARH values and behavioral expectations focused on service, trust, compassion, collaboration, accountability, and innovation.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, clinical discipline, or related field required. Master’s Degree in healthcare, business, public health, nursing, or related field preferred.
• Minimum Work Experience: Minimum seven (7) years progressive healthcare leadership experience required, preferably in a multi-site health system. Prior leadership experience over a major service line, hospital operation, or multi-department clinical operation.
• Required Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities: Strong operational, financial, strategic, and service-line leadership skills; ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and influence outcomes across multiple facilities; knowledge of healthcare regulatory, accreditation, quality, safety, workforce, and performance improvement standards; strong communication, decision-making, analytical, change management, and problem-solving abilities; experience with vendor relationships, contract performance, productivity management, and service standardization preferred; exposure to union environments preferred.
• Knowledge: Exposure to perioperative operations, sterile processing, surgical scheduling, anesthesia coordination, block utilization, case costing, and surgical quality standards.
