About the Role
The Vice President of Operations oversees a unique portfolio of hotels, serving as a key member of the operations management team. This high-visibility position requires strong communication skills and the ability to positively represent the organization in the community and media. The role involves extensive travel and demands the highest level of integrity, leading by example in all areas.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership and management.
- Drive the company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow, and business goals.
- Build and grow a strong, stable workforce.
- Present the company and its portfolio of hotels publicly with energy and confidence.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement operational infrastructure, including systems, policies, processes, and staffing.
- Demonstrate outstanding organizational and leadership abilities, including recognizing and cultivating rising talent.
- Apply a high-level understanding of business functions such as IT, HR, Finance, and Marketing.
- Make sound decisions and solve problems under pressure.
- Establish work standards, delegate tasks, monitor progress, and overcome obstacles to achieve goals.
- Provide coaching, advice, and assistance to team members while assessing their contributions and performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
- Four to ten years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong business acumen, including knowledge of business trends, competitive strategies, and market implications.
- Strong understanding of hotel management principles and practices.
- Proven sales skills with the ability to develop, follow, and modify sales strategies.
- Analytical, strategic, and tactical thinking with a collaborative approach to planning.
- Knowledge of budgeting, data analysis, and interpreting financial information to make sound business decisions.
- Extensive knowledge of economic concepts such as supply and demand.
- Ability to present ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and pursue goals, improve processes, and work efficiently under pressure while maintaining confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to meet the demands of the work schedule, including working outside regular business hours.
