About the role

The Vice President of Operations will strategically oversee the overall drive and operations of our properties, responsible for results, development, and execution of strategies that support, strengthen, and grow Hotel Operations. This position directly oversees Hotel General Managers and indirectly supervises property-level Executive Committee members to meet and exceed the strategic goals of the organization, including oversight of at least 5 to 10 properties with potential to increase scope.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute operational strategies to enhance brand positioning and guest satisfaction across properties.
  • Ensure properties maintain compliance with brand and Sage standards, delivering best-in-class service.
  • Oversee and guide General Managers to drive operational excellence and financial performance.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring a consistent and elevated hotel guest experience.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for revenue, profitability, and guest satisfaction.
  • Drive operational efficiencies while maintaining the highest levels of luxury service.
  • Collaborate with ownership groups, asset managers, and corporate leadership to align on property goals and investment strategies.
  • Develop and execute strategic operational and financial initiatives with accountability for objectives.
  • Assist and direct property leadership in revenue growth, market share performance, and sales initiatives.
  • Maintain trained and effective General Managers and ensure proper staffing of all Executive-level positions.
  • Mentor property Executive Committee members to develop High Potential leaders for advancement.
  • Ensure maximization of revenues and profits, proper controls, optimal productivity, and coordination of efforts.
  • Develop and enhance operational SOPs and ensure compliance with brand standards and Sage initiatives.
  • Participate in corporate activities, community relations, and maintain active company engagement.
  • Oversee special projects, transitions, and new property openings, ensuring successful implementation of Sage SOPs, financial systems, HR initiatives, and culture immersion.
  • Create innovative solutions that differentiate the brand and achieve market leadership.
  • Champion a guest-first culture, ensuring all hotels exceed customer expectations.
  • Oversee service innovation initiatives and implement guest feedback mechanisms for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop senior hotel leadership teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Ensure talent pipelines are in place for future leadership needs.
  • Collaborate with commercial, sales, and marketing teams to optimize revenue strategies.
  • Identify new business opportunities and partnerships to drive long-term growth.
  • Monitor and analyze competitive positioning to maintain market leadership.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives in line with company and industry best practices.
  • Champion innovation in guest services, technology, and operations.
  • Act as the liaison with property owners, ensuring proactive communications and understanding of ownership agreements.
  • Ensure management agreement obligations are carried out and serve as the main point of contact for ownership groups.
  • Review and understand ownership needs and expectations periodically, ensuring no surprises in communications.
  • Lead strategic planning, development, and coordination of business initiatives and strategies.
  • Set long-term strategies for staffing and service while ensuring alignment with other business disciplines.
  • Oversee annual business planning and budgeting for properties, meeting ownership deadlines.
  • Seek more efficient and effective ways to provide services to hotels and owners, leveraging technology and third parties.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in hospitality management or Business Administration preferred.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience with lifestyle, luxury, and branded hotel operations.
  • Previous experience as a General Manager or Regional/Corporate leader overseeing multiple properties.
  • Deep knowledge of high-end hospitality brands, including Sage’s portfolio.
  • Strong financial acumen with P&L management, budgeting, and forecasting expertise.
  • Proven ability to drive guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Pay

USD $200,000.00 - USD $250,000.00 per year.
