POSITION SUMMARYThe Vice President of Operations is responsible for leading and managing all operationalfunctions across Performance Equine Veterinary Services' locations, serving as theprimary operational authority and strategic partner to the founder in running ahigh-performing, multi-location equine veterinary and rehabilitation practice. This is asenior leadership role that demands both strategic vision and hands-on execution,requiring a leader who is as comfortable building operational systems and managingfinancial performance as they are rolling up their sleeves to solve problems on theground. The VP of Operations will own the full operational picture across all PEVS andEPIC locations, driving efficiency, team performance, client experience, and profitabilitywhile positioning the organization for continued growth in the world's Horse Capital. SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE-All PEVS and EPIC locations are operating at full capacity with clear processes,proper staffing, and consistent delivery of the high-caliber care the brand is builton -The founder is freed from the burden of day-to-day operational management andfocused on clinical leadership and organizational growth, because the VP ofOperations has full command of the business -Measurable improvements in revenue, profitability, and operational efficiencyacross all locations, tracked through clear KPIs and reported with accuracy andtransparency on a regular cadence -A high-performing, accountable team culture where staff across every location areengaged, developed, and aligned to PEVS's mission of helping 1 million horsesreach their peak - Scalable systems, documented processes, and leadership infrastructure are inplace to support new location launches and service line expansions withoutsacrificing quality or consistency OBJECTIVES-Oversee and manage all day-to-day operations across PEVS and EPIC locations,ensuring each site operates efficiently, upholds quality standards, and delivers aconsistent and exceptional experience for clients and patients -Own full P&L accountability for all operational functions, monitoring financialperformance across locations, identifying variances from plan, and drivingcorrective actions to protect and grow overall profitability -Develop, document, and enforce standardized operational processes, standardoperating procedures, and quality controls that can be consistently applied acrossall current and future locations as the organization scales - Build and lead a high-performing team across all sites, taking direct responsibilityfor recruiting, onboarding, developing, and retaining staff who reflect PEVS'sculture, values, and commitment to excellence -Serve as a close strategic partner to the founder, translating organizational visionand growth objectives into executable operational plans with clear timelines,resource requirements, and measurable outcomes -Drive revenue growth across all service lines by identifying capacity and efficiencyopportunities, optimizing scheduling and workflow, and ensuring every location isconsistently performing at or above established financial targets -Establish and manage vendor, supplier, and partner relationships, negotiatingcontracts and controlling costs across equipment, medical supplies, facilities, andthird-party service providers -Lead the selection, implementation, and optimization of practice managementsystems, reporting platforms, and technology tools that improve operationalvisibility, reduce administrative friction, and support data-driven leadership -Ensure full regulatory compliance, licensing, and safety standards are maintainedacross all PEVS and EPIC facilities, proactively managing audits, certifications, anddocumentation to eliminate risk - Develop and manage the operational budget across all locations, providingaccurate financial forecasting, tracking spend against plan, and recommendingcapital investments that drive growth and operational quality -Oversee the client experience across all touchpoints, identifying service gaps,resolving escalated concerns, and implementing improvements that strengthenPEVS's reputation and long-term client loyalty -Evaluate and lead operational planning for new location launches and service lineexpansions, building the infrastructure, staffing models, and processes needed tosupport sustainable, repeatable growth COMPETENCIES-Operational Leadership: Independently manages complex, multi-locationoperations with clear authority and accountability, setting direction, removingobstacles, and holding teams to a consistently high standard of performance andexecution. -P&L Management: Demonstrates strong financial fluency and takes full ownershipof revenue, cost management, and profitability at the organizational level, drivingresults through disciplined and data-informed decision-making. -Strategic Thinking: Translates the founder's vision and growth ambitions intoconcrete, executable operational plans, identifying the systems, talent, andresources required to scale the business effectively and sustainably. -Hands-On Execution: Leads from the front when the work demands it, engagingdirectly with operational challenges alongside the team and setting the standardfor quality, urgency, and accountability through personal example. -Team Development: Builds, coaches, and retains high-performing teams acrossmultiple locations, creating a culture where staff are developed, aligned to themission, and consistently held to clear expectations. - Process Improvement: Identifies operational inefficiencies and designs scalable,repeatable systems and SOPs that drive consistency, reduce waste, and deliverbetter outcomes across all locations. -Client Experience: Champions a culture of exceptional client and patient care,ensuring every interaction across all PEVS and EPIC touchpoints reflects theorganization's commitment to compassionate, personalized, and results-drivenservice. - Financial Acumen: Reads and interprets financial statements, operationalbudgets, and performance data with confidence, using insights to forecastaccurately, manage costs proactively, and guide sound investment decisions. -Communication and Influence: Communicates clearly and credibly withveterinarians, clinical staff, clients, vendors, and leadership, building trust andcross-functional alignment across a diverse, fast-growing organization. -Compliance and Risk Management: Ensures all facilities maintain full regulatory,licensing, and safety compliance, proactively identifying and mitigatingoperational risks before they become organizational liabilities. -Technology Adoption: Drives the selection and implementation of practicemanagement systems, analytics tools, and operational platforms that improvedata visibility, reduce administrative burden, and support better decision-makingat every level. -Adaptability: Thrives in a growth-oriented, entrepreneurial environment wherepriorities evolve and the work requires both high-level strategy and hands-onproblem solving, maintaining focus, composure, and sound judgment underpressure. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE-Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration,Operations Management, or a related field required; an MBA or equivalentadvanced degree is strongly preferred -Minimum 7 to 10 years of progressive operations leadership experience withdemonstrated success managing multi-site or multi-location organizations -Proven track record of full P&L ownership with measurable results in revenuegrowth, cost management, and operational efficiency improvement -Experience in veterinary practice management, equine industry operations,animal health, or a related healthcare or clinical services environment is stronglypreferred -Demonstrated ability to build organizational infrastructure, develop teams, andscale operations through periods of rapid growth -Strong financial literacy with experience developing and managing operationalbudgets, producing accurate forecasts, and presenting performance data toownership -Experience implementing or optimizing practice management systems andoperational technology platforms -Proven ability to operate as a trusted, senior-level partner alongside a founder orprincipal leader in an entrepreneurial, high-growth setting -Familiarity with veterinary regulatory requirements, OSHA standards, andhealthcare facility compliance is a plus
