Vice President of Operations
MFUSED is one of the most recognized names in cannabis. Founded in 2012 and self-funded to profitability, we grew from a Pacific Northwest pioneer into a top-selling, multi-state brand built on proprietary extraction science and purpose-engineered hardware — Super Fog, the Jefé all-in-one, the ION cartridge. Today our products reach adult-use markets across five states, and we are expanding into significantly more — with international ambitions on the horizon. We operate a deliberately hybrid model: in-house production in our own facilities, co-manufacturing and distribution partners in newer markets, and licensing relationships where we supply the hardware, materials, and brand that bring the products to shelf.
About the role
We are hiring a Vice President of Operations to be the engine behind the next phase of growth. This is a Vice President title with a chief-operator's mandate: you will own how MFUSED makes, moves, and delivers its products end to end. It is a builder's seat and an executive's chair at the same time — you will be as comfortable in a warehouse solving a bottleneck as you are in front of ownership framing a market-entry decision. As MFUSED scales, so does this seat; we are building the operating backbone a future COO office will stand on, and we want the person who can grow into it.
Responsibilities
- Operations & Production — End-to-end responsibility for how our products get made, whether in our own facilities or through co-manufacturing partners. Own production planning, quality, throughput, and unit economics across the network.
- Supply Chain & Procurement — Sourcing and vendor management for the hardware, components, and materials behind our devices and extracts — including the hardware and materials we supply to our licensing partners. Build resilient, cost-smart supply across every market we serve.
- Warehousing, Logistics & Distribution — Multi-state inventory, compliant transport, and fulfillment — direct where we run it ourselves and through 3PL and distribution partners (such as Flow in Arizona) where we do not. Keep product flowing, compliant, and on time.
- Partner, Co-Man & Licensing Management — Own the operational relationships with CMOs, co-packers, and licensees: the SLAs, guardrails, quality standards, and performance that protect the MFUSED brand when the work happens outside our four walls.
- Multi-State & International Expansion — Stand up operations in new markets. Make the build-versus-partner call, design the operating model for each state, and get MFUSED to shelf quickly, compliantly, and profitably — then do it again as we go abroad.
- Compliance-Integrated Operations — Partner closely with Compliance and Legal so that state and federal requirements, traceability, and seed-to-sale integrity are engineered into the operation, not bolted on. In a regulated industry, operational excellence and compliance are the same discipline.
- Operating & Financial Discipline — Own operational budgets and cost performance, bring a data-driven view to every decision, and give ownership a clear, honest read on where the operation stands and where it is headed.
- Team Leadership — Build, lead, and develop the operations organization — hiring ahead of growth, setting standards, and creating a culture that can scale from a small, scrappy team into a multi-market operation.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive operations leadership, including multi-site and multi-state responsibility, with a track record of scaling an organization from small to substantially larger.
- Direct experience across both in-house manufacturing and third-party models — co-manufacturing, co-packing, or licensing — and the judgment to know when to use each.
- Deep command of supply chain, procurement, warehousing, logistics, and distribution as an integrated system, not siloed functions.
- Experience in a highly regulated industry. Cannabis experience is strongly preferred; comparable rigor from pharmaceutical, food & beverage, CPG, medical device, or similar regulated manufacturing is highly valued.
- Genuine executive presence paired with a roll-up-your-sleeves operator's instinct — someone who thrives in a founder-led, resource-conscious, fast-moving environment and can do the work while also leading it.
- Strong financial acumen and comfort owning budgets, cost, and operational performance metrics.
- Experience standing up new markets or geographies; international expansion experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree, and Lean / Six Sigma or comparable operational credentials, are a plus.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all applicable state and federal background clearances, licensing, and badging required to work in the cannabis industry in each state where MFUSED operates.
- This role may involve exposure to cannabis and cannabis products in the course of normal duties.
Benefits
We are self-funded, profitable, and founder-led — which means real ownership, real speed, and real consequences to your decisions, without the drag of institutional bureaucracy. You would be joining a brand consumers already know and trust, at the moment it is scaling from a regional leader into a national one. For the right operator, this is rare air: the mandate of a chief operator, the runway to grow with the company, and the chance to build the operating engine of a category-defining cannabis brand.
