Vice President of Growth & Strategic Partnerships
Centering Healthcare Institute (“CHI”) is a non-profit organization that collaborates with healthcare providers across all sectors to transform healthcare. Our mission is to champion and advance the evidence-based Centering group model of care to transform how healthcare is practiced and experienced, empowering healthcare providers and patients to improve health outcomes. We empower patients, strengthen patient-provider relationships, and build communities through three main components: health assessment, interactive learning, and community building. CHI is transforming healthcare delivery and outcomes for all families, beginning with pregnancy and early childhood, by expanding access to our evidence-based framework for billable group medical visits. With over two decades of experience, CHI has successfully scaled Centering to approximately 480 Centering sites in more than 40 U.S. states and territories, with approximately 28,000 patients served in 2025.
About the role
The Vice President of Growth & Strategic Partnerships (VP) is responsible for developing and implementing the business development, marketing, and philanthropic strategy alongside the CEO to support CHI’s future plans to scale. This role demands impeccable leadership, revenue-generation, and philanthropic acumen with a passion and drive for success; excellent communication and presentation skills; and the ability to drive revenue, build and maintain positive relationships, and influence colleagues enterprise-wide.
Responsibilities
- Champion improving health, transforming care, and disrupting inequitable systems through the Centering group model.
- Demonstrate commitment to CHI’s priority focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, and its values of advancing high-quality, evidence-based group care.
- Spearhead the organization's growth strategies, championing both near-term expansion and long-term vision for the Centering network.
- Lead efforts to diversify the Centering model, exploring partnerships and new markets to broaden its impact and reach.
- Participate in the organization’s strategic planning and develop impact and evaluation priorities, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for near and long-term growth.
- Establish meaningful relationships with existing and prospective top CHI donors, foundations, third-party payers, and community partners, managing a portfolio of six- and seven-figure donors and prospects.
- Support the CEO in managing their strategic portfolio of top donors.
- Collaborate with the CEO and other senior leaders to execute systems and processes that measure and ensure progress toward revenue goals and departmental efficiencies.
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to finance leadership regarding grants, contracts, budgets, and policy formation.
- Manage an annual departmental budget with oversight from the CEO.
- Oversee and ensure execution of the operational functions of the Business Development, Philanthropy, and Marketing Communications team, including database management, gift acknowledgment, pipeline management, and online giving.
- Serve on the CHI Development Advisory Committee alongside the CEO, overseen by the CHI board of directors.
- Cover for the CEO during absences, including overseeing Executive meetings, departmental meetings, and check-ins.
- Set business development goals, monitor progress, and share results with the CEO to ensure organizational goals are met or exceeded.
- Create and execute a sales plan that meets or exceeds established sales quotas and supports annual revenue targets.
- Lead a team of National Directors, Managers, and Associates, motivating and developing the team to deliver upon sales plans across their territories.
- Engage in philanthropy stewardship, meeting regularly with existing clients and prospects to understand their evolving needs.
- Build long-term, productive, and mutually beneficial relationships with national partners.
- Work effectively with internal support departments to promote sales and ensure a seamless client experience.
- Plan and execute all CHI external and internal stakeholder meetings according to Development Team Leadership and stewardship standards.
- Attend conferences and professional association meetings to promote CHI and Centering.
- Manage administrative functions to ensure accurate and timely recording of sales activities and performance reports, analyze data to project trends, and maintain client and prospect databases.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in Sales, Fundraising, or multimillion-dollar revenue-generating roles.
- Executive leadership experience with direct reports.
- Strong sales experience.
- Outstanding interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain the highest ethical standards, including confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion and diplomacy.

Schedule
The Vice President of Growth & Strategic Partnerships operates in a remote office-like environment with a standard full-time work schedule. Irregular hours may be necessary. Regular check-ins via communication tools (e.g., Teams, Zoom, email) are required to maintain alignment and productivity. Travel is expected up to 30% for conferences, staff meetings, retreats, and other relevant events.
Pay
The salary range for this role is $135,000–$140,000, based on qualifications and years of relevant experience.
