The Vice President of Global Technology will define and execute the enterprise technology vision, ensuring technology capabilities support global growth, operational excellence, and innovation.

About the role

  • Define and execute a multi-year global technology strategy aligned with organizational objectives, growth plans, and evolving industry needs.
  • Lead enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives supporting clinical, laboratory, and business operations.
  • Partner with executive leadership and business stakeholders to identify technology opportunities that improve efficiency, quality, customer experience, and operational performance.
  • Establish technology governance frameworks, architecture standards, investment priorities, and decision-making processes.
  • Oversee global IT infrastructure, including cloud platforms, data centers, networks, endpoint management, collaboration tools, and telecommunications.
  • Ensure technology environments maintain high availability, disaster recovery readiness, business continuity, and operational resilience across global locations.
  • Modernize legacy systems while ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Lead global technology support operations, service delivery standards, SLAs, and customer satisfaction initiatives.
  • Define and execute cybersecurity strategies covering risk management, incident response, security operations, identity management, vulnerability management, and third-party risk.
  • Ensure compliance with regulated technology requirements, including GxP, FDA, GDPR, SOC, ISO, and other applicable frameworks.
  • Partner with quality and regulatory teams to support computerized system validation, audit readiness, and compliance initiatives.
  • Drive enterprise data strategy, including governance, analytics, reporting capabilities, and AI-enabled insights.
  • Evaluate and implement scalable technology platforms that support global expansion and operational growth.
  • Manage technology budgets, forecasting, software licensing, contracts, and vendor relationships.
  • Establish performance metrics and reporting mechanisms to demonstrate technology value and business impact.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing global technology organization across multiple locations and time zones.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify, develop, and scale AI, automation, and emerging technology capabilities to strengthen competitive advantage and business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Extensive executive technology leadership experience, strong strategic thinking, and a proven ability to operate in complex, regulated environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including senior executive-level roles.
  • Experience leading global technology organizations within highly regulated industries such as healthcare, life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, clinical research, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of GxP environments, computerized system validation, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise transformation, modernization, and technology scaling initiatives.
  • Experience managing global infrastructure, cybersecurity programs, enterprise applications, and data environments.
  • Strong financial management skills, including technology budgeting, forecasting, vendor management, and strategic planning.
  • Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and business partners.
  • Able to balance innovation, operational efficiency, risk management, and cost optimization.
  • Experience leading geographically distributed teams and driving collaboration across global functions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or MBA.
  • Experience in clinical research, contract research organizations, or Phase 1 clinical trial environments.
  • Knowledge of laboratory systems, clinical technology platforms, and regulated data environments.
  • Experience with cloud transformation, AI initiatives, automation strategies, and enterprise architecture modernization.
