RTW Investments – Recent Press Role OverviewThe Vice President will work with the Managing Director and New Ventures team to identify and evaluation opportunities for company creation. The Vice President will be responsible for developing investment theses for drug acquisition targets within given therapeutic area(s).This position is full-time and reports to the Managing Director, New Ventures. Key Responsibilities Source and maintain a pipeline of novel drug development ideas for NewCos within given therapeutic area(s)Conduct proprietary research to analyze assets across science, disease, commercial, IP, CMC, clin dev, regulatory, and valuation verticals.Write, pitch, and maintain investment notes for company ideasBuild pitch deck including recommended deal terms, clinical development, and financingDevelop expertise within therapeutic area(s) of coverageAttend all relevant medical, banking and partnering conferencesConvert ideas into NewCos with successful PnL Qualifications and SkillsBachelor’s degree required, Advanced degree (MD or PhD) strongly preferred. All applicants MUST have a degree in and a strong understanding of biological sciences.5+ years of experience focused on the biotech/pharmaceutical sector, buy-side role preferredAlso open to MD/PhDs with <5 years of experience who are looking to make a career switchAbility to operate independently on both strategic and tactical tasks, and clearly articulate the process involvedInvestor mindset, deep experience with producing research notesRelevant academic or industry experience in the life sciences is preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated tenacity in conducting detailed research and presenting findingsNew York based with willingness to travel (15%)The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned to the employee from time to time. The target annual cash compensation range is $425,000+, though will be determined by a variety of factors including prior experience, relevant expertise, and the scope of responsibilities assigned.
